Spinal Decompression Therapy, Houma

Houma’s premier spinal decompression service treats patients suffering from a variety of afflictions including bulging discs, sciatica, pinched nerves and herniated discs.

Using our advanced, state of the art Antalgic-Trak spinal decompression machine, the patient’s spine gently tractioned to help the joints decompress and allow the release of any herniation or pinched nerve to return to its natural position.

This alleviates pain and increases range of motion, enabling the patient to return to normal life and may even eliminate the need for surgery!

It’s a great treatment option for back and neck pain.

Spinal Decompression FAQs

How Does Spinal Decompression Work?

Non-surgical Spinal Decompression utilizes a computer guided pull on the spine to create a negative pressure inside the disc. This reduces disc bulging and herniations and stimulates a healing response by pulling nutrients and water into the disc.

Is treatment painful?

Non-surgical spinal decompression is not painful. It is very relaxing. Many of our patients take a nap during the 20-minute treatment.

How many treatments do I need?

A typical treatment program consists of 20 sessions that are done over a 6-to-8-week period.

How successful are treatments?

A 1993 study presented to the American Academy of Pain Management revealed the Antalgic-Trac Spinal Decompression Therapy produced a 95% success rate in treating acute and chronic neck and back pain.

A follow-up study revealed 86% of patients still maintained good to excellent results and were satisfied with their treatment one year after completing their treatment program.

Can I have spinal decompression if I already had neck and back surgery?

Many patients can have Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression even if they already had a spinal surgery. Each patient is evaluated individually to determine if they are candidate for this therapy.
